OMS Montessori asked Morgana McKenzie, a Junior High student with a passion for videography, to create a short film for the launch of The Element High School. Her short film “A Day in the Life of a Montessori Junior High class” premiered at ‘The Element Takes Flight’ evening in November 2012.

Morgana entered her film in the Toronto International Film Festival in the “Jump Cuts Young Filmmakers” competition and it has been accepted as a finalist!

Her film will be screened twice: once on Friday April 19th to students/schools that wish to attend, and again in a public screening on Sunday April 21st, at the TIFF Bell Lightbox theatre in Toronto.

The Element Takes Flight

The official launch of OMS’ new high school, The Element, took place at the Canadian Aviation museum. About 125 people joined us and the Executive Director of the North American Montessori Teacher’s Association, David Kahn, to celebrate. The evening premiered the video “A Day in the Life of Junior High,” produced by a current student and talented videographer, Morgana McKenzie.
