e2 – Geography
Our city was hit with a zombie apocalypse! Luckily, our Grade 9 Geography class was prepared to take on the role of the City of Ottawa Office of Emergency Management! They worked in small groups to find safe shelters for evacuees, to budget for supplies, to plot evacuation routes on maps, and to solve problems like looting and electricity outages. Afterwards, they were visited by Kate Todd, the Program Coordinator for the real Office of Emergency Management, so that they could learn more about how the city responds in a real natural disaster or emergency situation.
