e2 – AWOL

A recent AWOL brought students to the Horticulture Building to use Canadian Geographic’s giant floor map “Drawn to Victory.” The map, which depicts the Western Front of the First World War, helped us make connections between grade 9 Geography and grade 10 History. Students worked together to determine the latitude and longitude of various battles, to consider how physical geography impacted the way the war was fought, and to determine how fast and far various fighter planes could travel.
