The Ottawa Food Bank – Our Last AWOL of the Year

On June 14th, e2 students volunteered at the Ottawa Food Bank warehouse, sorting food that will be shipped to various distribution sites around the city. This was part of a Geography assignment, where students were asked to plan a community service project that addressed the challenges faced by newcomers to Canada or refugees. After learning that a large percentage of the food bank’s users are refugees, they decided upon this task. Many of the students really enjoyed their work and asked if they could volunteer there over the summer.
We are looking forward to another exciting year of AWOLs beginning in September!
