50 Years, 50 Days, 50 Ways Enrolment Campaign Launched at OMS Montessori

OMS Montessori is pleased to announce the launch of a 50 day enrolment campaign: 50 Years, 50 Days, 50 Ways. The campaign will serve to celebrate OMS Montessori’s 50 year history in the City of Ottawa, and to demonstrate what makes OMS Montessori Ottawa’s premiere Montessori institution.

OMS Montessori began as Ottawa’s first Montessori school, Ottawa Montessori School, and currently provides exceptional education to students from 18 months to grade 9. With state-of-the-art facilities in Alta Vista, and at Lansdowne Park through The Element High School, OMS continues to be an innovator, and a leader in education in Canada.

“We are very proud of the diverse community of students, staff, and parents that we have at OMS Montessori,” said Julie Perrault, Registrar at OMS Montessori. Ms. Pat Gere, the OMS Head Director, added that “Montessori pedagogy continues to resonate, and many leaders in the community, in Ottawa, and worldwide have seen the benefits.”

This enrolment campaign serves also to celebrate The Element, a new high school in Ottawa, which uses the Montessori principles of independence, self-awareness, creativity and community engagement to support a strong academically focused program. The high school program, located in the exciting Lansdowne Park development in the City of Ottawa, grants credits towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

“Over the past 50 years, our school has served the children of 3 Prime Ministers, and has touched the lives of many in our community,” commented Ms. Gere. “This campaign serves to celebrate our history, and to reach out and welcome parents and children who would like to join us.”

About OMS Montessori

OMS Montessori, Ottawa’s first Montessori, is a not-for profit, innovative and leading edge academic institution in Ottawa. Spanning 2 campuses with children from 18 months to 18 years of age (we will gradually serve students in grade 10, 11 and 12), OMS Montessori engages students using the fundamental principles of the Montessori Method, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, a physician and renowned educator. Montessori’s educational method calls for individualized activity within a learning community and “prepared environment,” an environment tailored to general human characteristics, to the specific characteristics of children at different ages, and to the individual personalities of each child.

The Element is a unique private high school offering an academically rigorous and engaging high school experience. Students who are in their ‘element,’ are focused, engaged and internally motivated, That’s what The Element provides for adolescents. Located in the dynamic Lansdowne Park, The Element serves Grades 7 to 12, leveraging Montessori principles and community resources. A Montessori background is not required for admission; a passion for life is.
