Real life problem solving
One of this year’s businesses in our Entrepreneurship Program is ‘Jewelry Making’. However, before jewelry could be produced, appropriate materials needed to be sourced by our students. To this end, the students in the jewelry group found a bead store in downtown Ottawa and planned an excursion, by public transportation, to visit the shop. The trip was well organized and executed until the students arrived at their destination and found that, depite the information that was on the store’s website, the store was no longer in business. The students quickly made an alternative plan and found another shop nearby. This is a prime example of real life problem solving from our students and highlights an important part of our program.
